KiwiRail committed to undertake rail grinding throughout New Zealand in 2011. The project required engagement of an Australian contractor to deliver the works on a service level agreement based arrangement.
The on-going day to day management of this delivery was undertaken by Vitruvius’ Senior Project Manager. The role included coordination of support staff and disciplines to maximise the Contractor’s production outputs.
The contract administration and financial control was all undertaken by Vitruvius on behalf of the project sponsor, KiwiRail’s Manager - Track Engineering.
Programme Management, access planning and resource scheduling were all components of the role and delivery of an on-going service level agreement based with Speno as Principal Contractor.
Production and financial reporting were also the responsibility of the Vitruvius Project Manager in addition to planning, reporting, audits and cash flow forecasting on the $25m project.
