Intermediate Civil Engineer - Wellington

Vitruvius is a boutique consultancy that is growing quickly in the Transport and Civil Engineering services sector. Our business is led by well established, mature, and experienced individuals who are looking for talented team members to join the group as we grow and take on exciting new projects.

From our central Wellington CBD location, we operate New Zealand wide in disciplines such as rail, transport, land development, and professional advisory services. We also have survey capability to support the investigation and field work being tackled country wide.

You will play an integral part of our Wellington team as the business develops to meet the demands of our growing client base.

Your Role

Your role would principally involve supporting the delivery of our existing projects while playing a key part in growing our Wellington team and this will include:

  • Preparing civil engineering designs and documentation including drainage, earthworks, underground services, and civil structures.
  • Investigation & analysis of technical problems, and presentation of results
  • Managing your own projects to time and budget
  • Developing and fostering relationships with new and existing clients

The role may include travel as project needs dictate, and a proven focus on safety and quality are key to ensuring excellent outcomes for us and our clients.

What Will You Bring?

You will bring a desire to understand and solve our client’s problems in pragmatic and innovative ways, and will demonstrate a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

You will ideally hold a recognized Civil Engineering qualification (BE Civil preferred), and will have a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in project delivery within the New Zealand civil industry.

CAD/Civil 3D experience is required for preparing design material and a good understanding of civil construction, including experience in undertaking construction observations, will support this element of the role.

Project & contract management experience (including NZS3910) would be beneficial, however on the job training will be provided.
