Who are we looking for?
This role will suit a positive, self driven individual that enjoys working individually and as part of a team. The role is predominately rail focus so experience on track is advantageous.
The Surveyor/Designer will assist with the delivery of projects for transport predominantly in the rail sector.
The role will be responsible for representing Vitruvius and interacting professionally with client representatives ensuring consistent, on time, in full and in specification execution of project work to enable clients to meet their business expectations and KPI’s.
This will include rail alignment surveying and track set out, data processing and analysis, quality assurance, planning activities, progress reporting and implementation of planned work schedules.
This will also include technical development, design, engineering, quality assurance, site surveys, related field work, planning activities, progress reporting and implementation of planned work schedules. There will be a requirement to supervise large scale civil works with interpretation of investigations that enable proposed recommendations and corrective actions.
The role will be accountable to design in an appropriate software such as 12D to support the deliverable of track construction requirements.
Above all the Surveyor/Designer will be a safety leader through implementation and adherence to safety plans HSE legislation, codes and practices.
The successful candidate will have:
- Diploma in Surveying and/or Civil Engineering (Level 6)
- Field surveying skills and experience
- Experience in the use of GNSS and Robotic Total Stations
- Experience in the use of Leica survey equipment
- Knowledge of design software such as 12d, Civil 3D, Autodesk.
- Able to manage pressure in work environments
- Self-motivated and self-directed
