Vitruvius was formed in 2010 by Neil Mason, a civil engineer, and Ray Ladyman, a surveyor.
Neil had recently settled in Tauranga having migrated from England where he worked with Balfour Beatty. Neil came to New Zealand to build a new quality lifestyle for his family and the concept of building a quality work experience has extended to Vitruvius culture and policy.
Ray had worked in the Bay of Plenty land development sector for over 35 years with both Councils and local consultancy firms and decided he needed a change and wanted to help lead this.
Vitruvius is based in three key New Zealand centres, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch. Vitruvius head office is in Tauranga.
Tauranga is one of the fastest growing provincial centres in the country and is renowned for outdoor recreational activity with golden sand surf beaches, a large safe estuarine harbour, and catering for many other outdoor activities: equestrian, cycling, mountain biking, off road motors sports to name a few.
Wellington is New Zealand’s capital city and is known as New Zealand’s cultural centre. It is home to the NZ national museum “Te Papa” and many art galleries. Wellington is also home to a thriving film industry with companies such as Weta, Weta Digital, Human Dynamo supporting the creative sector with special effects, digital animation and computer gaming development. There are 3 university campuses in Wellington. Wellington is also the centre for NZ’s “café culture” with many informal and ethnic eateries.
Christchurch - the gateway to Canterbury and New Zealand's South Island! Here, you can ski, bungy jump, hike, mountain bike, raft, surf, swim, golf, see whales, dolphins and seals, visit wineries and gardens, shop, be entertained and awed, and so much more, all within 2 hours of Christchurch.
Our business is built on gaining and sustaining successful relationships both with clients and with our staff. A driving philosophy is “Its all about people”.
Safety is paramount and this is developed at a reflex level by being the first item on any meeting agenda.
Staff are encouraged and supported to gain their full potential e.g. through gaining advanced qualifications.
All staff are encouraged to achieve a life balance where they can have a rewarding career, with people whom they want to work with, and which achieves a balance with family, recreational and personal aspirations.
