Recently, team members from across the Vitruvius business participated in specialist NZS 3910 Contract Administration and Independent Certifier training delivered through Engineering New Zealand. The programme formed part of our ongoing investment in developing our people and strengthening the capability we bring to our clients and projects.
NZS 3910 is one of New Zealand’s most commonly used construction contract standards and plays a critical role in the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. While contract administration is not a standalone service offering at Vitruvius, many of our engineers work in Engineering Representative, Contract Administrator and Independent Certifier roles, helping clients navigate the commercial and contractual aspects of project delivery.
The training was facilitated by Gavin Shaw, a highly regarded industry practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in project delivery, contract administration and independent certification, and a member of the committee responsible for revising NZS 3910:2023.
Bringing together participants from across our transport, rail, land development and water teams, the programme focused on practical, real-world application rather than theory alone. Through case studies, project-based discussions and worked examples, participants explored key topics including contract administration processes, variations, claims, payment certification, commercial risk management and the evolving requirements of NZS 3910:2023.
