Senior Water Engineer

Are you ready to shape Auckland’s water future? Our growing team is looking for an exceptional Associate, Technical Lead, or Senior Water Engineer in Tāmaki Makaurau, who thrives on problem solving of the complex challenges of our sector, through balanced right-sized approach, collaboration with our industry and delivering quality outcomes.

As our senior technical leader, you’ll be the driving force behind project delivery and exceptional client outcomes across Auckland’s water sector. You’ll be instrumental in growing Vitruvius’ technical capability, bringing a strong reputation and established relationships with key clients, such as Auckland Council Healthy Waters and/or Watercare, ensuring projects are executed to specification, on time, and with the highest quality.

You’ll provide technical expertise and project leadership across stormwater, wastewater, and potable water infrastructure, guiding other engineers on best practice while mentoring our graduate and junior team members. Your deep understanding of our client’s needs, ways of working, and specifications will be critical to ensuring successful, compliant outcomes, while also growing Vitruvius’ technical capability and presence in the sector.

Working alongside our Sector Lead and Service Lead, you’ll also help strengthen Vitruvius’ standing in the national water sector through client engagement, business development, and collaborative leadership. Above all, you’ll champion a culture of safety, ensuring our projects are delivered with care for people, communities, and the environment.

Some of the projects you would be involved in include:

  • Three-Waters design
  • Three-Waters asset renewals
  • Three-Waters strategy and planning
  • Green-infrastructure and water quality treatment.

What You Will Bring to Vitruvius

Essential Experience:

  • 8+ years working in water engineering projects
  • 3+ years technical leadership working within a project team
  • Experience in client facing roles and stakeholder management
  • Relationships with Auckland Council Healthy Waters and/or Watercare
  • Washington Accord Degree in Engineering
  • On your way to becoming Chartered.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in business development
  • NZS3910 administration/engineers representative experience
  • Complex project experience.
