Our team is looking for a proactive Financial Accountant who thrives on accuracy, continuous improvement, and making financial data genuinely useful. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting business decision-making by ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of financial information. You will build strong business acumen and become champion of our financial and project systems, helping improve analytical tools and reporting processes to enhance visibility and overall performance.
You will report to the Finance Manager and work across the business with project leaders and stakeholders to ensure month-end is smooth, reporting tells a clear story. You will also help strengthen the integrity of our data across systems, so leaders can act with confidence.
Some of the work you would be involved in includes:
- Month-end close and monthly management reporting, including commentary on performance and emerging risks or issues.
- Financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and KPI reporting across company and projects.
- Invoicing and debtor management, including WIP oversight in collaboration with Project Leaders.
- Monthly payroll, including accuracy of employee data and leave balances.
- Balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset register maintenance, and day-to-day transactional bookkeeping.
- GST returns and compliance, in coordination with external accountants.
- Cashflow monitoring, forecasting support, and contributing to annual budgeting and ongoing forecasts.
- Championing our systems (including Xero and Deltek VantagePoint), data validation, reconciliations, and reporting improvements.
- Identifying opportunities to automate and integrate processes to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
What You’ll Bring to Vitruvius
Essential Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in finance and intermediate accounting skills
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced capability with data analysis and reporting tools (for example Power BI, Excel, SQL)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a high attention to detail with a commitment to data integrity
- Strong systems focus, with proven experience improving reporting or optimising financial processes
- Clear communication skills, with confidence collaborating across teams and supporting end users

- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance
- Proficiency in finance or ERP systems and data management practices
- Experience supporting system implementations, process automation, or tool improvements
