Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on complex water infrastructure projects? Vitruvius is seeking a Intermediate Water Engineer who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to high‑quality outcomes for clients across the three waters sector.
In this role, you will support the delivery of projects by applying established engineering techniques and procedures. You will work independently on routine tasks, with guidance provided for more complex challenges, ensuring project outputs meet client expectations, KPIs, and Vitruvius safety and quality standards.
What You Will Do
As an Intermediate Water Engineer, you will:
- Support engineering assessment, decision making, and design for three waters projects
- Assist with technical development, design, and quality assurance tasks
- Undertake site surveys, data collection, sampling, and progress reporting
- Assist with project documentation, procurement documentation, and technical reports
- Support construction monitoring, administration, and project management activities
- Attend site visits and contribute to health, safety, and wellbeing observations
- Work closely with Project Leaders, contractors, and internal teams to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery
What You Will Bring to Vitruvius
Essential experience and skills:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Natural Resources Engineering – Washington Accord equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an engineering environment
- Strong computer literacy and confidence working with project documentation
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset with strong attention to detail and quality
Bonus points for:
- Consultancy experience
- Understanding of New Zealand standards and regulatory frameworks
- Experience supporting construction monitoring or contractor engagement
