About the Role

Vitruvius is seeking a Projects Controls Planner to support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure and engineering projects and programmes.

This role is focused on planning and schedule management, while also contributing to broader project controls activities such as risk, cost, change, and performance reporting. You will work closely with project leaders, clients, and stakeholders to develop practical planning solutions, monitor delivery performance and support informed decision making.

You may work as part of a Vitruvius project team or be embedded within a client organisation, building trusted relationships and supporting high quality project outcomes.

What You Will Do

As a Project Controls Planner, you will:

  • Develop and maintain project and programme schedules
  • Facilitate planning workshops and support the development of structured, practical planning approaches
  • Monitor progress against baselines and support regular reforecasting
  • Identify programme risks, delays, and constraints and contribute to mitigation planning
  • Produce clear and accurate reporting for project teams, clients, and governance forums
  • Support project controls activities including risk, cost, change, and performance reporting
  • Contribute to planning processes, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to support successful delivery outcomes

What You Will Bring to Vitruvius

Essential experience and skills:

  • Experience in project planning and scheduling within infrastructure, construction, engineering, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of complex projects or programmes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of project controls principles including planning, reporting, forecasting, risk, and change.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in rail, transport, or major infrastructure environment.
  • Consultancy or client-side advisory experience.
  • Exposure to integrated project controls including cost, risk, and change.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting delay analysis or programme reviews.
