Futureproofing Cameron Road

Construction to fully transform one of Tauranga’s most important transport corridors is officially underway this week. The $60m construction contract was awarded to the Cameron Road Joint Venture (FH & Downer NZ) and will deliver a modern safe and reliable multi-modal corridor which will set the foundation for the UFTI Connected Centers programme, and enable Tauranga City Council to meet its planned growth and intensification outcomes within the Te Papa peninsula.

Vitruvius have led the delivery of the project for TCC since CIP funding was received in August 2020. Vitruvius in partnership with TCC, lead design consultants Aurecon and the Joint Venture partners and have successfully delivered a design and construction programme that will deliver on the social, environmental, cultural and transport outcomes that the region desperately needs. Construction is due for completion in October 2023.
